Attendees were particularly interested in a live demonstration of the powerful new GE.View portal. The portal was developed by CRC ORE with support from the Minerals Research Institute of Western Australia. CRC ORE’s Senior Mine Geologist, Jon Rutter, gave Sundowner attendees insights into how the portal could be used to identify potential additional value which could be extracted from mines in Western Australia. GE.View takes the vast body of geological information in the WA Geo.View database and drills down to how sites could potentially increase value by applying Grade Engineering. This has the potential to reveal new economic opportunities for the Western Australian mining industry, allowing users to assess and rank opportunities on a deposit-by-deposit basis.
