CRC ORE - developing sensors for the resources sector

Corporate, Researchers, Solutions

The Cooperative Research Centre for Optimising Resource Extraction (CRC ORE) worked closely with Participants to develop innovative solutions to the resources sector's biggest challenges.

Some of the CRC ORE’s important work included the development of four new sensor prototypes for the mining industry. Developed in conjunction with Participants – the National Research Council of Canada, The University of Adelaide and CSIRO, these sensors have targeted gaps in the current range of commercially available sensors.

Use of these sensors will provide mining companies with new and unique information about the ore that is being processed, enabling a real time value based decision making capability for ore pre-concentration that did not previously exist. This will allow mining companies to remove waste material from their ore streams ahead of cost intensive mineral processing, which will improve mining productivity and assist with more sustainable emplacement of waste streams.

CRC ORE is established and supported under the Cooperative Research Centres program, an Australian Government Initiative.
